Erick Ocampo is an award-winning sound designer, CEO, and the creative force behind Vicious Sound, a premier Los Angeles-based audio studio serving the game, film, television, and trailer industries. With over two decades of experience in game audio and nearly a decade in film and television, Erick has helped shape the sonic identity of critically acclaimed AAA games, major motion pictures, and high-profile trailers.

At the core of Erick’s work is a passion for emotional storytelling through sound. Specializing in linear sound design, he brings a cinematic sensibility to everything he touches—sculpting audio that enhances narrative, deepens immersion, and resonates long after the experience ends.

A recordist at heart, Erick is known for his relentless pursuit of fresh, original material. From remote environments to unconventional objects, he constantly seeks out new textures and timbres that give each project its own unique sonic signature. His deep knowledge of microphone techniques, field recording, and experimental sound manipulation allows him to build custom sound libraries that are as distinctive as the stories they support.

Erick’s creative philosophy extends to his leadership at Vicious Sound. As a mentor, he empowers his team to carry forward his story-first approach while encouraging them to bring their own voice, ideas, and expertise to the table. The result is a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team experienced in sound design, technical audio, implementation, foley, voiceover, interactive music systems, and more—fluent in tools like Wwise, Unreal Engine, and bespoke studio pipelines.

Outside of the studio, Erick is a lifelong gamer, musician, and storyteller. His musical roots as a guitarist and punk band frontman continue to influence his bold, performance-driven design sensibilities. He’s a tech enthusiast, a psychology nerd, and a world traveler—constantly drawing inspiration from new places, cultures, and emotional experiences to fuel his craft.

Samantha Ocampo is the Co-Owner, COO and Production Administrator at Vicious Sound LLC. She plays a crucial role in managing the company's daily operations and ensuring seamless workflow and productivity. She oversees all project budgets and handles payroll, guaranteeing financial efficiency and timely compensation. Samantha facilitates team coordination to meet project milestones and deadlines. Her creative talents extend to contributing voice work for games and movies, enhancing projects with sound effects and off-stage walla. With a strong background in theatre and music, she provides valuable creative input, ensuring all audio assets meet high-quality standards. Samantha is instrumental in strategic planning and resolving operational issues, making her an integral part of Vicious Sound's success. Her multifaceted skills and unwavering dedication make her an invaluable part of the Vicious Sound team.

David Cohen is a video game industry veteran with 13 years of experience in AAA, Indie, and VR game development at well known companies such as Factor 5, Digital Domain, EA, and Perfect World Entertainment. 

He also has 10 years of business development experience representing some of the best service providers in the video game industry such as BOSi, Room8, and Amber, working with such clients as Riot, Blizzard, Sony, Microsoft, and EA.

Kim Levin is an associate producer on the Vicious Sound team. She studied violin performance for both her Bachelors and Masters degrees, post graduation she became a teacher at a music academy and a freelance violinist. Her career in music naturally transitioned into audio production at Riot Games, where she facilitated music and sound design across multidisciplinary projects for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift. Kim is dedicated to supporting the team, and loves sharing her enthusiasm for sound design, music, and video games.

Raison Varner is a seasoned sound designer and composer with 17 years of experience in AAA game development. He is best known for his contributions to the Borderlands franchise, where he served as audio lead, sound designer and music director, as well as the writer and voice actor for fan-favorite characters like the Psycho Bandit. With a comprehensive understanding of the entire audio development pipeline, Raison is dedicated to creating experiences full of richness and character.

Toby Hulse is an award-winning Audio Director and Sound Designer with 16 years of experience in game audio. He’s worked on dozens of games of different genres from AAA to indie, from console to PC to mobile to VR. He has experience as an individual contributor and as a leader and has broad understanding of the game audio development pipeline and what it takes to create an immersive and compelling auditory experience from start to finish. Toby’s experience includes games such as Minecraft: Legends, Disney Mirrorverse, Gears of War 5, Need For Speed, Club Penguin Island and Sleeping Dogs. As a former full-time musician, songwriter and performer, Toby brings a wealth of creativity and performance into his audio work and as a Major in Mathematics he brings logic, strong technical skills and a passion for audio implementation and building audio systems. Toby is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of game audio and creating world class, award-worthy soundtracks for each project he works on.

Christopher Clanin, an award-winning sound designer based in WashingtonState, is Lead Sound Designer at Vicious Sound. With a proven ability to create visceral and immersive audio experiences for games over the past 30 years, Chris has contributed to some of the most critically acclaimed games of the past decade, including God of War(2018),Uncharted 4, andThe Last of Us. He’salways looking for ways to advance the art and science of game audio,taking audio experiences to the next level for gamers while improving the dev tools and pipeline for the audio team.Clanin became interested in computers and music at age 12,and his passion for technology and drumming ultimately led to his career as a game audio professional after graduating with highest honors from Berkelee College of Music with a B.A.in Music Production andEngineering.Outside of work, Chris is an avid consumer of books, movies and games, and he still enjoy splaying drums as a hobby.

Denis Grigonis is a passionate and dedicated sound designer with a meticulous ear for detail, consistently pursuing new knowledge and advancements in audio technology. He is always exploring and developing his unique sound, proficient in both linear and in-game sound design, and relishes the technical aspects of implementation.

Florian Ardelean is a sound designer based in Bucharest, Romania, specialising in cinematics and technical sound design for AAA games. His audio journey began at 16 as a video assist technician on film sets. In 2009, he earned a BA in video editing, sound design & animation, and his work can be heard on 40+ films, some of which won internationally acclaimed prizes at A-list film festivals. During the pandemic, Florian shifted his focus to game audio and in 2022 started working with Vicious Sound on AAA productions, taking on different aspects of game audio.

Goeun Everett is a two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning sound editor and designer, celebrated for her exceptional work on “Vampirina” and “Dragons: Rescue Riders.” With over 15 years of experience in the motion picture and AAA gaming industries, Goeun’s talent has been recognized through numerous awards and nominations, including her contributions to the Oscar-nominated sound team for “Birdman.” Her expertise and artistry have led her to collaborate with some of the most renowned directors in the industry, including David Ayer, Michael Bay, Alfonso Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Chloé Zhao. Goeun’s recent work features prominently in major projects such as “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” and “Jungle Cruise.” Goeun thrives on collaboration and finds the greatest fulfillment in creating sounds that resonate and inspire. Her passion for her craft continues to drive her contributions to the evolving landscape of sound design.

From drumming as a kid to full synth geek as an adult, Steve loves making unique and innovative sounds and collaborating with others in the process. A graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Steve has been working with audio for 20 years. Drawing from his experience in field recording, music composition, and sound design, he’s worked on award-winning documentaries, short films, commercials and games.

Blue is an audio programmer and technical sound designer, specialized in plug-in development and Wwise integration. He started his career in audio as a music teacher and composer. Blue is also a dedicated gamer and fan of video game soundtracks.

Randy Torres is a highly accomplished, award-winning freelance sound editor and sound designer with over 15 years of experience in the feature motion picture and AAA video game industries. His career is marked by his exceptional ability to create immersive auditory experiences that enhance storytelling and captivate audiences. Randy has had the honour of being a part of the Oscar-winning sound team for the Christopher Nolan motion picture “Dunkirk,” a testament to his expertise and dedication to his craft. Additionally, he contributed to the Oscar-nominated sound team for “Oppenheimer,” showcasing his consistent excellence and industry recognition.

Bobby Moen is a Senior Sound Designer with 17 years of experience in game audio. Proficient in both creative design and technical implementation, he has worked on a wide variety of projects from adventure MMO's to PvP shooters and from AAA to indie. Moen was driven to enter the industry after graduating with a B.A. in Music from James Madison University in 2007 and deciding to combine his passion for audio with his love of gaming. He finds joy and purpose in collaborating to accomplish great sounding, immersive, and informative audio.

Stephen is a sound designer based in Orlando, Florida, specializing in crafting immersive audio for video games. His passion for sound and storytelling began as a young drummer and music producer, performing for hundreds of thousands at live events while composing for media and commercial projects. In 2020, Stephen transitioned to sound design, earning a Master’s degree and honing his craft through international conferences and online collaborations. His innovative work earned him the Sound Creation of the Year award at the 2024 AirCon audio conference. Outside the studio, he enjoys exploring cinema, cooking for loved ones, and connecting with the broader creative world that inspires his work.
